Penn's Landing Lunchtime Run on 06/07/2011

Race St. Pier & Promenade
I decided to run to the Delaware River at lunch to check out the new pier & promenade at the end of Race. St.  Continued on down Columbus Blvd., turned around at The Moshulu and headed back towards Walnut St.

The sidewalk was crowded with lunch-goers and it was interesting dodging pedestrians!

Schuylkill River Trail Run - 06/02/2011

A panoramic view of the Chestnut St. Bridge
My turn-around point
Today was a breezy 79° in Philadelphia, way cooler than yesterday's 95° oven-like temperature.  A headwind on the way out made the run more challenging!  This made the return run easier with wind at my back.  Great day to be outside indeed!

** UPDATE **
Ted won his age group at the recent 2011 Broad Street Run! Congrats, Ted!

This is Ted, my running hero, who is a bit camera shy! He raced the 2008 Broad Street Run 10-miler in 61 minutes and finished in the top fifteen of his age group.

Saw him at the gym on a Spin bike during our lunch break today. He hasn't been running much due to knee issues. No worries, he says, as the first corporate race is months away.

Healing vibes & more leg speed to you, Ted!

A Spring Day In Philly

Who could resist a gorgeous Spring day? I surely could not! As lunch time came about, I laced up my running shoes and went for a run.  All images were captured through an LG GR500 Camera Phone.

Here is the route I took and some images of what I saw along the way.

Shadowman Rides Again

This morning was perfect for a bike ride. It was 48°F and blustery when I started out at 9:00 AM. And it sure felt great to be outside again!  My ride took me from Willow Grove to Doylestown and back, a total of 36 miles. Sure beats riding the trainer and watching Spinerval videos!

An FB friend uses RunKeeper to log his run workouts. I gave it a try, too. After three months of use, I can say with confidence, I no longer look like my profile photo on that site!
